Hello @miliangy,

Hypertensive LES is a disorder of the lower sphincter of the esophagus. I've shared a link to an article from Mayo Clinic's website. Just click on the blue link for more specific information, https://mayoclinic.pure.elsevier.com/en/publications/hypertensive-lower-esophageal-sphincter-pressures-and-gastroesoph,

I am interested in knowing a bit more about your diagnosis. How was Hypertensive LES diagnosed? Were you having symptoms of reflux?

Hi! Thanks for replying. It was diagnosed through an esophageal manometry, I was having symptoms of GERD, I even had esophagitis for approximately 7 years and I was in medication for GERD for almost the same amount of time. After the diagnosis the doctor suggest to make a PH monitory and the results were normal. After all this happen I stop medication and going to the doctors, cause I wanted to take a break since I was not receiving any answers. Then COVID 19 started and all the clinics were closed but a few weeks ago symptoms started to come back again, sometimes worst than it use to be. I have an appointment in December 3 with my gastroenterologist, hope he give me some answers since I feel lost with this diagnosis.

Hello @miliangy,

I'm sorry to hear about your symptoms. I can understand your confusion. I'm also glad to hear that you have an appointment on December 3. It might not be unusual for your symptoms to come back (worse than ever) after you stopped the meds you were taking for the GERD and esophagitis.

I would suggest that before your appointment on December 3, you make a list of the history of your meds including when you stopped them and why and when the symptoms came back. Sort of like making a timeline of this problem. You might also talk with your doctor regarding a change in meds.

What is your worst symptom right now, @miliangy?
