How to Heal From Reactive Arthritis Post-Infection
I was recently diagnosed with post-strep reactive arthritis after my bloodwork detected that I had a prior strep infection within the last 3-6 months.
I had chronic inflammation in my toes and very stiff rigid joints. They put me on a burst and taper of prednisone and my symptoms significantly improved.
However I know that is not a long term solution, so I’m curious what maintenance type of treatment I should be doing to fully heal from this. I read it could be anywhere from 2-8 months to resolve on average.
I will continue to take carcumin and vitamin d supplements, stretching well and balancing activity with rest, and listen to my body. What other holistic treatments or advice do you have for healing my body? I’m not sure what else to do. Thank you.

In general you cannot get rid of it but you can manage it. Sounds like you’re on three right track already. I had something similar in my youth after a fall. I had one injection in my great toe joint and it was gone for a long time. As I’ve aged I’ve developed a bunion at the same location. I’ve had a few reoccurrences over the years and I’m now 73.
