How to exercise when you have hiatal Hernia/GERD

OK ladies, I need some crowd source help. I have a new hiatal hernia/GERD diagnosis and a new problem. I am trying to stay fit by going to the gym, but I am having trouble finding an exercise bra that doesn't aggravate my hernia. I have modified my work outs so I am not bending over, doing sit ups or other exercises that would put pressure on my belly, which is working very well, but I cannot exactly go to the gym without wearing some sort of chest support. Any advice?

Get a cheap little foot peddler and stay home (no bra). After 30 min with my feet, I put it up on the table and try my for another 30 min with my arms. Very therapeutic.

I, too, have a sliding hiatal hernia that I have dealt with for years. I am in the gym several times a week. My gastroenterologist encouraged me to actually work on my core strength to improve my muscle tone in that area. I started very slowly with low weights and have improved dramatically including some weight loss. In the past, when I was having a flare the only thing I could wear was a spandex tank top with a built-in shelf bra. Otherwise, my Champion sports bra works out fine the rest of the time. I always go a little larger in the band size to make sure it is never too tight. 😉

Just wear a wireless bra or a sports top with built in cups ?
