How to stay warm with an Ileostomy?

How to stay warm with an Ileostomy. My Stoma is about 1/2" too low which causes me to wear suspenders. The suspenders are uncomfortable across my shoulders so I started wearing T-Shirts. The T-Shirts only go down to my waist and bunch up so I have cold skin around my waist. I marked my T-Shirt for the center of my Stoma cut a 3 1/2" round hole in the shirt and had a seamstress place backing and sew it into place around the hole. Now I can wear the T-Shirt tucked in after pulling the pouch through the hole in the T-Shirt No more bunching up and no longer cold around the waist. I'm having several more made and it's working really well for me.

Hi @harrison221. That’s a brilliant solution to a bare, chilly back when your tshirt doesn’t work out well with the Stoma! Another idea that might work for you. Duluth Trading Company (you can order online) has Longtail t-shirts that are cut a little longer. So you’d have more to tuck in! But your idea of having a seamstress reinforce the openings was a really great idea!
