Has anyone stayed at the Hope House in Rochester? Gym for patients?

Has anyone stayed at the Sandra Schultz Hope House in Rochester? So, how did you like it? We are thinking of staying there, however I don't think they have a workout facility. Does the Mayo Clinic have a gym for patients?

About workout facilities:

Mayo has an employee only workout facility, https://dahlc.mayoclinic.org/. I do not think public or patients have access.

A few options if need a work out facility are Y and LIVE 125. Not sure if have temporary memberships. YMCA has a location near downtown Rochester. Older facility, but has exercise equipment, pool and classes. Another option is 125 LIVE, bigger newer facility on north end town. The Y is not as crowded as LIVE 125.

For short term I suggest the Y - https://www.ymcanorth.org/ , you can contact about short term membership.

If have a car and feel like site seeing while here, the first week of Oct, there is a Fresh Art tour across Mississippi in Wi. It is mon of my favorite things to do in fall. Local artist have open houses in studios and shops in small towns. If follow map and signs, it is beautiful drive along Mississippi river. See web site for more info: https://www.freshart.org/ . I always cross river in Wabasha MN, it is decorated for fall,.
Good luck with visit.

Welcome @pjebp. I've added your question about the Hope House to the Cancer group as well as the Colorectal Cancer group. I believe @javajude @mugs24cancer and @loli have experiences they can share. @roch and @lmindela may be able to offer information about workout facilities for patients.

pjebp, when will you be heading to Rochester?

We toured the Hope House but decided to stay at Homewood Suites. Did not know how I would feel during treatment and just could not put all meal preparation on my husband. Also, did not like the fact that there were no TVs in the rooms. TVs were only in commons area. Since then we have bought a townhome in Rochester. It is our “second” home. We love Rochester. It is such a positive and progressive community. When we are not there it is available for others if you would want to contact me. I know there are gyms and workout facilities in Rochester that cater to out of town folks, You might call Mayo and ask how to get a list. Hope this helps. When (and for how long) will you be there?
