High Grade Focal Serous Carcinoma

Posted by jsedmo @jsedmo, Oct 21, 2022

Hi there, my mother was diagnosed with High Grade Focal Serous Carcinoma this week. She is getting a cat scan today to determine if it is spread to any other organs but I wanted to get a head start and try to reach out to you all to see any advice, doc referrals, clinical trials, positive/success/recovery stories because the information I have found on google is terrible. Thank you so much!

@jsedmo It's very sad that your mother was diagnosed with cancer. May I ask you a few questions so that I can be more helpful? W

Where was the cancer diagnosed? Is it ovarian cancer? Did she have a biopsy?

What's the location of her doctors? In general, I think it's better to go to a National Cancer Institute facility. These are often located in universities and is also where clinical trials are located.

Here is a website where you can look up where these places are located:

Are you looking for a second opinion? If so you may be able to self refer your mother or her primary cancer doctor can make the referral. If you are interested in another opinion at Mayo Clinic here is the contact information to request an appointment:

Mayo Clinic has a large number of clinical trials. Here is the site where you can find the clinical trials. It's a long list but you can type a search term to help you locate a clinical trial that is relevant for your mother.

It's wonderful that you are providing both emotional and informations support for your mother. You are loving daughter to do this for her.
