High ferritin brain fog and dizzies

Posted by oceanayers @oceanayers, 17 hours ago

My son has been dealing with high ferritin along with brain fog, dizzies, nausea, tingling in hands and feet, insomnia, exhaustion, stomach pain, depression for over nine months. Seen many doctors, done a lot of tests, with no results/a lot of them come back normal. Did find out he has the MTHFR mutation with two variants which he is taking supplements prescribed from his naturopath. Bought products to help stimulate his vagus nerve to see if this would help. A few of his symptoms have improved a little bit. He is not my same son, this is talking such a toll on him and his family including myself. Any suggestions or help would be greatly appreciated. The health care system is so frustrating, to get in takes months, need referrals for everything, only treat symptoms and not try to find out what the root cause is cause is.

How sad for your son to be suffering with all these problems and yet seeing doctors with no real results! That must be terrible for all of your family including your son. My husband had lung cancer and at one point had brain fog when they put the wrong medicine in his CT scan. I did some online research and found that Gatorade can help with brain fog. He started drinking a lot of Gatorade and it did help. The brain fog went away. He also drank a lot of water which is always good for your body.

Another thing that helped was researching the side effects of every medication and treatment my husband had or was going to have. Doctors don't have the time to do this. Knowing the side effects of what your son is taking may explain some of the symptoms he is having. Tell the doctor what you find out is affecting your son and let the doctor take him off that medication if it is warranted. Don't have your son stop the medication on his own. Sometimes medications have to be discontinued a certain way or the results are not good.

My husband and I also prayed a lot together. It really helped us get through a bad time with him having lung cancer. I'll say a prayer for you, your son and his family.
I wish you the best.
