Had a very bad bike accident that almost killed me (could have decapitated me )at 15 which put me in a reverse lordosis that started to prematurely age my neck….damage & pain showed up 10 years later with arthritis, bulging discs. So at age 25 dealing with wobbly legs, uncoordinated arms, movement of head intermittently. Visits (a must) to chiropractor 2-3 x a week every week. Then hit by a car on my bike at age 42 (was cherry on top), arm stuck in up position & surgeries started. Over 10 years 4 neck (bars/plates 4 levels) 3 shoulder surgeries. Pain meds, insaids still passing out from the pain. Then a whiplash (age 60?) loosened up a 20 year old plate which then grew thru my esophagus (26 lb weight loss to 93 lbs) creating 2” hole. Only Mt Sinai would address the problem- helped me & saved my life. Then at 65 from years of military neck caused serious scoliosis 22 degrees thoracic curve then 20 degrees opposite curve in lumbar with spondi at the break point which effects my legs big time. My neck currently is fused surgically 4 levels but C6-T1 fused naturally along with C3-C4 …I get shots in spine regularly & I take life one day at a time & help my friends which are just starting their orthopedic journey.

@mrmacabre at least i didn't die from the first accident. Drove my bike into a chain that some idiot put across a legal path in Fort Lee, New Jersey with no lights so you couldn’t see it at night. The bike went up, handle bars hitting my left eye and forehead very hard. Blood everywhere. Still have scar tissue behind my eye from it.
