I had a benign pituitary tumor at the age of 19(now 54)I’m coming to crisis with weight management I take hydrocortisone 15mg for adrenal function! 87mcg of thyroxine for under active thyroid and hormone replacement. I’ve researched high levels of cortisol in the body I’ve looked into leptin resistance and suffer chronic with sugar pangs there are no switches to stop them! Is there any thing I can do?

@jsm70802 welcome to Mayo Clinic Connect. Not sure what you mean by “suffer chronic with sugar pangs”. Could you explain? Do you have an endocrinologist for your adrenal, thyroid and hormone conditions? Could you run these concerns by that provider and also get their recommendations regarding weight management?
Hey 👋 I’m sorry I can’t give you any advice but I’ve just been told I’ve got adrenal insufficiency and the endocrinologist put me on hydrocortisone steroids x 10 every day for life! I’ve put 5stone on in 4 months 😩🤦♀️ they gave me an adrenal crisis emergency injection kit too…the weakness n fatigue is so bad isn’t it! n now they told me I’ve got a benign tumour pressing against my pituitary gland so I’ve gotta have an MRI brain scan to see what’s going on..my body doesn’t produce the stress hormone at all…I don’t know anything about this as it’s all very new to me but wow, I don’t know how I’d manage without these steroids, I’m still really fatigued n chronically weak but I try get through, staying positive, I’ve got a heart condition too and fibromyalgia n I’m only 42…had a heart attack 4 months ago..it’s hard isn’t it..I hope you get some answers take care xx
