Thank you. I was told I have two options from this scan. Live with it or reverse shoulder replacement. After an unsuccessful spine surgery five years ago I'm suspicious of such a prognosis by an expert who was so short with me. My wife and I sat through MRI explanation with the spine surgeon who sold a big surgery that changed my life. My main problem was hip pain which was actually caused by my hip. Which I realized after my hip only got worse after the spine surgery. A different hip doc replaced it two years later after a terrible wait, partially due to Covid shutting down elective surgeries. The shoulder replacement looks like a lengthy process to recovery and I'm not so trusting these days that I might end up as bad or worse than I am now. Forgive my ignorance, but I can't help but wonder if a clean out wouldn't be an improvement. I was also told I couldn't pick up over 25 lbs. Something about this feels funny.

We presume you’ve gotten a report along with your study pics? I was a radiology tech before becoming a nurse and it looks like necrotic bone from arthritis, but I’m no radiologists so take my words with a grain of salt. Get your report for a definitive answer.
I’ve heard this surgery has a long rehab and is not fun. Yes the 25# weight limit is true following the surgery.

Thanks so much. I was able to open the image but when I clicked on the report it said to contact the doctor for it. Hence when I asked the doctor what my options were he said "live with it or get the reverse replacement." My history with surgeries was great until five years ago when I had major spine surgery which led to chronic pain to this writing. I trusted my surgeon and he was very transparent going over my images with my wife and me. His surgery was supposed to help my hip pain which was very bad. After the surgery Covid closed elective care and some many months later I saw a hip specialist who said my hip wasn't bad enough to replace. I saw a different doc and a year later I got a new hip. The hip I should have had replaced to begin with.

When you say necrotic bone from arthritis, is there some way to avoid it getting any worse? Or is the arthritis on its own schedule regardless of what I do? So I've decided to put this shoulder procedure aside for now. I also have three hernias that I've had for a long time which are getting more painful. I'm having them done this Friday, the 28th. So I have some time to think about the shoulder. One other point. The last time I had shot was last October and it didn't help the discomfort. I'm thinking of starting large doses turmeric and easing up on using it for a few months. Thanks again, John
