Help I'm panicked with CT report; labs and symptoms
Had abdominal CT yesterday. GI: "Acute colon disease"
My labs normal EXCEPT C4 compliment (cancer or inflammatory disease)
Unintended weight loss (126-109) over several months
Night sweats
Persistent low grade fever
I'm a pediatric nurse and am terrified. Anyone please reach out. Thanks

@msdeborah28, I can imagine that you're terrified. Getting your test results before meeting with the doctor can be a blessing and a curse. It does appear that something is going on that requires medical attention. Naturally, we always leap the big "C" and our worse fears.
I know this is easy for me to say (type), but nothing can be done tonight. The best thing that you can do is to find calm and peace that will allow you to sleep. You want to be rested for the upcoming appointments so you can absorb everything.
It might also help to know that colorectal cancer is a very slow growing cancer. As you get further tests and discover what is going on, the cancer is not rapidly progressing, IF it is cancer.
Deborah, when do you meet with your doctor to review the CT scan results?
Thank you Colleen. I spoke with my doctor last eve and he said the radiology report sentence does not make sense in the context of the report. I agree. He is going to contact the radiologist today to discuss / have a re-read.
Still does not explain the C4 compliment lab high and my symptoms. I'm down another pound this morning and trying to eat anything and everything.
I am praying. Last colonoscopy was about 4-5 years ago so I also left message with my GI doctor.
Going into my new job shortly. Will continue to try to stay positive and wait for more information. I am widow of 15 years and this is tough feeling alone.
Thank you for communicating. Hope to talk soon.
Good for you for pursuing this with your doctor. Any update Deborah?
