If you recently aquired Pseudomonas you have a better chance of getting rid of it. If not it often becomes chronic and can only be managed and "knocked back". The 28 days on and off of Toby is a common prescription to knock it back and manage it. You would probably need to also take an oral antibiotic like Cipro or Levo but your Dr would know about that if it was appropriate to your situation. At any rate it is very hard to get rid of once you have had it for some time.

Well said irenea8. It's been over five years for me. Sorry the news is not what you wanted to hear Duggan. Good news is I've got good quality of life.

How do you manage your Pseudo Faye? Mine is not very well managed other than airway clearance.

Right again irenea8. My most recent sputum shows pseudo back up to 4+ (from 2+ in August). Will see what pulm doc says on my appt in a few weeks. I'm having a slight increase in cough but OK otherwise. I probably have my head in the sand somewhat.
