Have you tried DRG dorsal root ganglion therapy for PN?

Posted by cax75 @cax75, Jul 14, 2023

I have idiopathic peripheral neuropathy of my toes on both feet. I have tried lyrica and gabepente and had a anaphylaxis. Now on Cymbalta long term but don't know if it is helping. DRG is much like SCS but only for a particular area. I have constant pain and can't find comfy shoes. Any ideas or suggestions?

I have severe PN in both feet up my legs to just below my knees. I had to stop wearing shoes because the shoes would cause an irritation on my toes that turns into an ulcer with infection. To prevent the infection getting to my bones, I was put on mega doses of antibiotics. After the 2nd time, my doctor suggested that I wear open toe sandals. I did and it stopped the ulcers and reduced the pain. I also started using thc with cbd and it has helped a lot. I already was on OxyContin, Gabapentin, and Celebrex for the pain in my feet. I also have Charcot feet adding to my pain. The thc/cbd combination has helped me with my pain and I have not had to increase my OxyContin in the 5 years since I started taking thc/cbd. I had to increase my Oxy every 9 to 12 months due to my pain increasing and my tolerance increasing. I have found for me that cbd alone doesn’t help with reducing the pain. I drink a thc/cbd drink during the day to keep the thc/cbd levels at a constant level that reduces the pain and not get stoned. At nighttime I take a thc/ cbn gummy to sleep. Notice the cbn instead of cbd. Cbn has helped me sleep longer, about 6 hours, before the pain wakes me up.
