Has Forteo caused a positive ANA Titer blood test?

I have a highly positive ANA and my anti-centromere antibody is >8 (yours is 3). Your anti-centromere suggests scleroderma, but is not high. Most general rheumatologists don't know as much about scleroderma as one who specializes , so hope you can find a scleroderma specialist or clinic.

I have lupus, and mainly get sick in the sun. I do not have symptoms of scleroderma other than GERD, but they check my heart via echocardiogram, and lungs via pulmonary function test, and the physical exam checks fingernails and looks for any tight skin.

Has your ANA been checked previously? Do you have new autoimmune symptoms? Many people have these test results without signs of illness. Also other things can cause a positive ANA (see below) including Lyme disease.

I have had highly positive ANA for decades. If you have never had this test before, it is still likely that you would have had positive tests before Forteo, if you had had them. If you have had these tests before and they were negative, that would be unusual (positive ANA doesn't come and go). So have you had any previous negative ANA's?

I did two years Tymlos with no increase in autoimmune symptoms. The two meds that I have been told affect the immune system are Prolia and Evenity.

I am concerned that others may read this and add this worry to their already full plate of worries with Forteo and Tymlos. I found Tymlos, which is similar to Forteo, to be the most benign of all the medications offered. I hope you can talk to a doctor about this question, are reassured about Forteo, get whatever care you need, and hopefully come back to allay others' fears that might crop up from this suggestion.
