Has anyone used Exparel?
Can anyone share their experience from asking their surgeon to inject Exparel during their joint surgery? Both of my rotator cuffs were operated on, one with Exparel and one without. There wasn't that "wall of pain" after the nerve block wore off with the shoulder that had Exparel.

@cvzird Curt - Exparel is a long-acting non-opioid pain reliever (bupivocaine).
I had rotator cuff surgery just a few weeks ago and never experienced the "wall of pain" you described. In fact 24 hours after surgery, I transitioned from oxygen to alternate tylenol/ibuprofen, and to 3 extended release Tylenol a week later. 5 days after surgery my pain was less than before (i completely tore 2 rotator cuff tendons and a biceps tendon a month before.) Of course, I was also using cold therapy about 12 hours throughout day any night. (Still sleeping with my rented "Nice cold therapy" machine and icing twice during the day. )
I did have bupivocaine after an earlier ortho surgery and it was amazing - it kept the pain under control with few painkillers for several days.
What other pain management did you use after each surgery? How is recovery going?
