I’m considering hyperbaric oxygen treatments for my osteoporosis as well as for osteoarthritis. My pcp was very skeptical when I inquired about it. However, she really knew nothing about it. I stopped taking Tymlos after 3 months. Side effects included headaches, weight gain and lethargy. I’m doing bone builders and weight training in addition to high protein low /no sugar and almost no processed foods. Will be getting another Dex scan in 6 months.
Hyperbaric oxygen has been proven to increase BMD, not sure about T-score overall. It is criminal what they charge to do 1-90 minuet treatment. From what I understand you need 40 treatments to create the change. I have also heard the Bemer treatment works for BMD as well and a lot less expensive. Looking into these aspects. As far as diet, let me know how your DXA scan goes in 6 months would be interested to hear! I know alkalinity is very important, I have tried the higher protein balance as well as all vegan and no success as yet. I don't smoke, drink and am active. Stress and medications can be an issue and with a surgery 2 years ago, I think that is what set me back. I am getting back on track. Thanks for your feed back on Tymlos, you sound sensitive like me to meds. Feeling reluctant to start the Tymlos as like you I may not make it long - have heard many in this situation. May keep on track with diet, supplements, exercise, natural treatments till the end of the year and recheck DXA.
