Has anyone survived stage 2A NSCLC EGFR w/complex mutations

I had a LUL on 12/9/25 and I’m 6 weeks post op and hospitalized due to a thoracic duct leak and I’m having it repaired today, hoping for the best. I’ve been discouraged. Has anyone experienced this? I had 2mm in one lymph node.

@amareese , I hope your procedure went well, and that you are starting to recover. It sounds like you desperately need a 'win'. We all have low points, especially in the early days after diagnosis. It's such a shock when a health issue as serious as cancer comes out of the blue. While I don't have EGFR, I do have ALK, and I was diagnosed as stage IV over 5 years ago. Today's treatments and therapies are better than ever, but this is still scary stuff. No one knows what complications we will face. You seem to be getting the care that you need. You have a lot of determination, and many reasons to keep moving forward. Sending big hugs to you.
Did the duct repair procedure go ok?

I had the repair yesterday, it was quite a tedious procedure and I was under sedation 3 hrs, they didn’t see the leak but they used a solution to try and plug the leak. They removed chest tube today and discharged me after a cxr. My chemo is delayed again. I was suppose to start last Thursday but I have to wait 2 weeks to repeat cxr. This scares me. How soon did you start chemo after diagnosis? Thank you for your encouraging words. I surely need them after a 10 days hospitalization.

@amareese my chemo started a month after diagnosis. Your body needs to heal from this most recent surgery and I send hope that the next cxr shows it has healed. In the meantime, contact your surgeon and ask if a regular CT or a low dose CT might give them a better picture of the spot that had the leak to better evaluate it.

You certainly are going thru alot after your diagnosis. To answer your question, yes in fact I’m a stage IV nsclc survivor. In July 25 it metastasized to my liver and bones but with radiation and chemo I’m now NED. I’m still taking immunotherapy but continue to have scans which are free and clear.

Thank you for sharing. Praying you continue to be clear permanently. Did you have my mutation EGFR? Immunotherapy wasn’t an option for mine.
