Has anyone lost some range of motion or bend after completing PT?
Has anyone lost range of motion or degree of bending after PT?
I have lost some after completing PT. I am 7 months post op, but still do my stretches, bends, stationary bike pedals and walking.

@cyndi1023 That is an interesting question - one I was discussing with my PT today, where I am rehabbing from one massive rotator cuff repair, and pain, bursitis and tendinopathy in the other shoulder.
My surgical shoulder has progressed beyond the other one now, 7 months after surgery. My PT instructions from the surgeon direct me to continue the entire PT regimen for TWO FULL YEARS after release from PT (estimated to be July 1st) - we are going to establish a plan for once-a-month in-person sessions to make sure I don't regress.
If I don't challenge myself to keep progressing, I find it easy to backslide because PT gets boring. I have had over a dozen ortho surgeries since age 40 plus chronic arthritis.
I’m four months out and yes, I’ve worked so hard, wore braces to avoid a manipulation now doing acupuncture which really does seem to help but there’s not a day that goes by that my knee isn’t the first thing that pops into my head and the last thing before I go to bed. The stiffness and the pain just sucks.
Just be patient please. Four months is barely healing time for a knee. With my hips, it was a year before I stopped thinking about them. When my MCL/ACL were replaced, I had nerve issues, so that was almost 2 years before it felt "normal"
Yes
I have had the same experience and am 10 months out from the replacement. Swelling continues, pain is constant and increased every time I put any weight on the leg or do any therapy. I have been so conscientious about doing the therapy and have finally concluded that the therapy has been too extreme all this time and has been damaging my surgical knee all along. I have lost 21 degrees of range of motion and now have knee and hip bursitis and an ileotibial band inflammation. I actually love doing the therapy, except for the pain. I hate being lazy and doing nothing. But with the constant pain, "progress" is a myth--I always go further backwards after I push forward and end up being able to do less than before. I never sleep much due to all the pain, so how can the leg heal? I have finally gotten a brace so I can walk 1/4 mile once a week without agony. I did four years of therapy and lost almost 100 pounds to get ready for the surgery and it was all useless. Please post again if you find the answer to, "Why does nothing work?" The doctors do not know and don't care. They have been doing knee replacements for 40 years, but have never bothered to figure out how to help a patient get well afterwards.
