Has anyone here with brachial plexus injury experienced hand recovery?

Posted by brachialplexus @brachialplexus, 3 days ago

I suffered a brachial plexus injury from a gunshot wound in January 2024, which resulted in a complete rupture. After undergoing nerve graft surgery, I'm still waiting and hoping for my hand to recover. At this stage, is it still realistic to hold on to that hope?

Dear @brachialplexus
Bless you of what happened to you. I also believe by “hoping for (your) hand to recover” 😉
Thx,

I've had some success for my hand with radiation induced bracial plexus -- my hand/arm went from totally numb couldn't lift my coffee cup and hold a pen to thumb/pointer numbness but able to do most stuff.

I did OT, PT, steroids, Vit B and Trental, and 40 rounds of Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy.

The hyperbaric was a long shot, and it took a couple tries to get insurance to accept it, but it helped the most.

I am so sorry about your gunshot wound and I hope something on this list could help.

Aw, thanks. I got really lucky that I was still in active treatment for the cancer so my radiologist was able to step up quickly for it.
