Has anyone had Reclast, Prolia then Evenity?
Has anyone done this sequence; Reclast, Prolia then Evenity? I am wondering which drug to do next after my last Evenity shots scheduled for February. I was wondering if Tymlos or Forteo are an option?

I am 48 and I am severely osteoporotic. I have taken Reclast 4 times. This medication dies stay in your system for 10 years. I am seeing a new rheumatologist and he is thinking of different options. Best of luck. I have tried all of bisphosphonates on the market. I have a genetic disorder called Osteogenesis Imperfecta, as well as JRA.
What you have done and are considering, is the reverse of my experience and treatment.
I did Tymlos, Evenity and Reclast. Some are doing Prolia (1-3 shots) between Evenity and Reclast.
All of the meds you have been on are anti-resorptive, meaning they lower bone turnover. Evenity less so than the others. Reclast is supposed to be limited to 3-5 years, but Prolila studies now go up to 10 years.
Did you have any rebound after Prolia and did Evenity handle it? If you did bone marker tests your doctor might be able to tell. If Evenity handled it that is good info for us all to have!
I wish there was more information on this sequence. Evenity is so new. Does your doctor suggest trying Tymlos or Forteo after these other meds? Do you need more bone density growth at this point?
Most do Reclast. Fosamax or Prolia after Evenity. Prolia discontinuation usually requires Reclast to prevent rebound so again, curious if Evenity mitigated it. Keep us posted! Maybe someone else will chime in with a better answer! I hope your endo is helpful: they are the best resource.
brcherry1350,
hi, did you have yearly injections of Reclast or more frequent. Are you one of lucky who has no side effects.
Have you had forteo in the past. It is often prescribed with osteogenesis imperfecta. I hope your rheumatologist is considering Forteo or Tymlos. They may be worried about some of the considered limits in the usefullness (and safety) of long term bisphosphonate use.
They've lifted the black box on both teriparatide and abaloparatide. Let us know what your rheumatologist is thinking.
