Has anyone had a negative experience with a TULSA-Pro PCa treatment ?

Posted by WingNut @ucfron, Sep 7 11:41am

Seriously considering TULSA-Pro with localized PCa (3+4) located in the transitional zone. Have also had urination issues and recent test said I wasn’t a good candidate for SBRT. Really not wanting to have my prostate removed due to quality of life issues. 62 and very active. Also not that excited about AS. Any opinions?

Hey Wingnut - go to the Search Bar and type in ‘Tulsa Pro’ - plenty of commentary, advice and experiences - including insurance info. Best,

The best place to find negative experiences is over on the inspire/zero discussion group. There some people did Tulsa before the 2023 revisions and heavily pan it such that nobody can say anything positive.

Of course no doctors now (since mid 2023) offer the older way of getting Tulsa. Now they take temperature up for a certain longer time period on all the areas ablated. Before they only ablated for short periods.

We all always risk there being future improvements that will work better. Best to go to experienced Tulsa procedure places as they put in improvements right away,

Agree with bjroc. . There are some negative experiences over on zero prostate site as he mentioned though it’s mostly people who did it before the improvements. Experience with reading MRIs and experience with Tulsa we’re both important. I couldn’t be happier with my Mayo Tulsa done in July 2024 Just click on my name to see all my comments.
