Has anyone had a knee ‘revision”?
I am seeing my Otho tomorrow to discuss results from my bone scan. When I last saw him, he said I needed a ‘revision’ of my TKR. I had an MRI several weeks ago in preparation for an ankle replacement. After seeing the radiologist’s report the Foot and Ankle specialist sent me back to the Ortho I normally see because the test showed ‘loosening of the joint’. I was told the recovery after the revision would be worse than from a total knee. Yikes! I had trauma to the knee years ago. It took me 6 months of therapy, and a manipulation at one month post op, to get that knee to function properly. I would like to hear from someone who’s experienced revision on an implanted knee.

Hello, I have had successful TKR. See message that I sent to cam28.
A repeated saying is that every case is different. My revision went smooth with quicker recovery and less pain. On the negative side I'm post 11 months and still in physical therapy with a ROM range of 108 and still experiencing some pain. I do feel progress but seems like forever. Bottom line; I would do it again.
Thanks for sharing. I. Scheduled for the revision 12/16. Already doing excercises to strengthen muscles. I’m so ready!
Hello Sallie Yes I would love the information thanks for asking and posting
