Has anyone had a fluoroscopic guided hip aspiration?

My surgeon thinks that I might have an infection in my new hip due to dental infections I got from 3 root canals. If you have had this procedure, did you have anesthesia? I am in constant pain and am afraid that I won't be able to stay still when the radiologist puts the needle in my hip to draw out the fluid. The Drs. are saying that I will have discomfort during the procedure but that means more pain.
