Has anyone experienced neuropathy in foot after TKR?
I have burning and stinging in my foot since my TKR. I am 5 months post op TKR. This is annoying when I am trying to about my daily exercises and routine. I have to just sit down and elevate and ice down for about 20 minutes or so. My ortho encourages me that this will improve as I continue to heal.
What suggestions would you have to help with neuropathy pain?

I have similar case. Now 9 weeks after left knee TKR. My left foot aches, and is very numb. I see my doctor this week. Hoping to get course of correction. It limits my recovery and daily routines. I hope to be able to share good feedback with you.
Yes, I believe it is what I’m experiencing after my procedure.
My procedure was Robotic Revision Left FKR. The revision part had to first remove a partial knee replacement device on the medial side of my left leg, which had gone bad. When we got the surgery, I experienced a sensation like a small bowl of water. It’s going from the top back of my leg down to my foot. It was so much swelling in the foot and the lower leg. At that time it was difficult to discern what if anything that had been. I have a retractable bed and of course I always had my foot raised above my head when I sleep. Since then, I’ve noticed that strange, tingling sensation and tightness curse right at the lower part of my tibia and the upper part of my foot. When I would get up in the morning, I didn’t feel that sensation, but I felt like I was walking on a pad at the bottom of my foot. And the sensation was very different at the bottom of my foot. I’m now going into my 6th week of recovery and most (but not all) of the swelling has gone down in my foot but However, those sensations(tightness, tingling, numbness in the lower leg and upper foot remain; as well as feeling much soreness and tenderness in my ankle on the medial side. I have my 3rd post op on Tuesday April 1, and I will discuss this matter again with my ortho. Some of the signs of neuropathy are present.

I am 17 months post TKR. I have had chronic pain since day one. Also had neuropathy in leg and foot. My primary care doctor prescribed Duloxetine to try to control the pain. Did not help the pain but to our surprise did control the neuropathy. I'm still taking it. My primary doctor has done more for me as the surgeon has done nothing to attempt to diagnose the pain.
From what I'm reading, there are several different ways pain is controlled, during and after surgery. My doctor used cryoanalgesia, which is supposed to pretty much eliminate the pain immediately following surgery. For some reason it didn't kick in until much later and I woke up in a lot of pain, but it was dealt with. I had to spend an extra night in the hospital and PT was talking about my need for special measures because I couldn't get up and walk the day of surgery. The next day, however, it all came together and I went home. My medical group seemed to have a very defined treatment program which included 6 weeks of in-home PT, and an occupational therapist coming to the house to make sure I could take care of basic needs -- showering, doing laundry, getting in and out of bed. I also got the cryotherapy machine to take home and that helped a lot. After that I had out-patient PT until my goal was reached, and for the first few weeks I was told it would be a good idea to take my pain med before going to PT. At PT I could use the stationary bicycle, but not the one I had at home because it requires more range of motion. Now at 9-10 months out I can use the one at home!
But about the foot -- through all of this I felt like my foot was in a stirrup, like there was a band running across the ball of my foot. This seemed to be a new one the PT hadn't heard before. It wasn't painful. It was more of a slight pressure or numb sensation, but I had feeling in the area. Now I sometimes get that sensation when I retire for the night, but it's gone when I wake up. I do have a sensation of a deep numbing in the area of my knee, but I have normal sensation to touch. I have mild lymphedema in the leg that has the TKR, so range of motion will probably not get any better, but it's as good as it was before surgery. A month after surgery I still wasn't sure I had done the right thing, but now I'm glad I had the surgery. It will probably never feel "normal", but my knee is strong again. I just started walking up stairs without needing to do the two feet on each step thing, but going down normally stilll feels less secure. I'd love it if my leg didn't constantly remind me I've had the TKR, but at least I can walk normally, and without a cane. The one thing I am still working with is the back pain from the change in gait. I may have delayed my own recovery by wanting to do too much too soon. I've hurt my back three times since surgery, but I feel sure I'll overcome the back issue soon.
