Has anyone experienced male orgasm urination or Climacturia?

Posted by azmith @azmith, 2 days ago

I had my HoLEP prostate surgery 6 weeks ago. My wife gave me a handjob and when I was close to orgasm I leaked a lot urine without even knowing it. She got grossed out and we stopped without reaching an orgasm. I have since masterbated solo to orgasm twice and had a forceful urination both times at orgasm. I want to understand what is happening before we do vaginal sex. Otherwise I have no leakage problems. Any experiences, thoughts or ideas would be appreciated.

I had NS RP last year at age 70. Although I was pretty much continent after the catheter came out, during the next several months I found many instances where some infrequent physical activity (including trying to have sex) would result in urine leakage. I was also dealing with ED, which didn't fully go away until month 15. Long story short, as I figured out the new normal I got much better control. But it took several months for me (at least 4 months or so). Progress was gradual. I don't know if they've helped but I did and continue to do daily a couple sets of Kegels. Now at 17 months after surgery I no longer have that urine release problem at all, although I still (prophylactically) empty my bladder right before having sex. Best wishes.

This is almost a universal problem after prostate surgery. Urinating before sex can reduce the problem, but it won’t eliminate it completely. Wearing a condom while having relations may be essential. If masturbating have a towel to collect the urine, that can really help reduce the inconvenience.

Thanks. Will keep doing kegals, empty bladder, etc. I was on intermittent catheter for 20 years, so it is wonderful to pee again.

This was a pretty big problem for me for a while. It was made worse the more fluids I drank and the more caffeine and alcohol. I feel it’s under control now and typically not a problem or noticeable.

I read once that it takes your body a while to get used to things post surgery and that this can get better with time. I hope that’s the case for you.

I sometimes have some leakage during foreplay with my wife. I do try to urinate completely before we start and then again after using the pump before actual intercourse. It does seem to help but not a cure all.

I no longer have this problem because I got an AUS (artificial urinary sphincter). I didn’t actually urinate while having sex, but when I started to get up afterwards, uncontrollable urine went all over myself and my wife. We both considered this a less than optimal way to end an otherwise wonderful experience. My wife felt that it was difficult to feel close to someone who just peed all over her. Other people have already mentioned ways of dealing with this, but I would like to suggest a waterproof blanket to use underneath you so that whatever happens doesn’t soil the bed. Please see attached. It is for animals and therefore cheaper than the equivalent for humans. I purchased from Amazon. It may give you a good excuse to be an animal for a while.
