Has anyone been on FORTEO and had horrible pain and side effects?

I’m a 59-year-old female. I was diagnosed with five compression fractures is not knowing when they had osteoporosis. They put me on FORTEO. I was on it for about six weeks and couldn’t no longer take the pain. It was so severe. I have been off it now for three weeks and the pain has finally subsided. Now I just started TYMLOS. Only doing four clicks to start and I am petrified. Has anyone else experienced this? Thanks in advance.

I was on Forteo for 2.5 months. I did have some joint pain but the reason I quit taking it was because of severe constipation, which did not resolve even when using Miralax daily.

I hope you tolerate the Tymlos better. I also did Tymlos for four months and while I had some mild constipation and intermittent bone pain, it was not as bad as Forteo.

I had the constipation as well, but it was tolerable compared to the pain. Thank you so much for your response. I appreciate it.

I did not have any problems with Forteo. They prescribed it after I had tried every other oral medication. It worked. I went from osteoporosis to osteopenia. Then I did a Reclast infusion and my jaw hurt so much I could only eat soft foods. I used supplements and exercise and was good until about 6 months ago when they put me on Prolia. First injection had some issues but nothing like Reclast. My second injection is coming up and I'm praying it will be the same as I am going to need all the bone support I can get
In the coming months!

Yes. The pain went away about four months after I started injections every other day.

When you say the pain went away about four months ago after you started injections every other day, is that Forteo or Tymlos you are taking?

I did well with Forteo for about a year and a half - no problems, then I experienced Tinnitus and hearing loss that is permanent. I don't know what to say other than all the drugs seem to cause something.

I just started it Friday on 4 clicks. So far nothing but nausea. I just hope it stays that way as I go up on the dose

Forteo

I injected myself daily with Forteo, for two years, back in the mid 2000s when it still had a black box warning. (regarding the risk of osteosarcoma) The black box warning was removed in 2020. I never had any problems what so ever. I'm thinking maybe you starting it already having compression fractures may be a factor in the pain you are experiencing.

Thank you for your response. I appreciate it. It could possibly be but the pain was all over my body not just in my back.
