@ghostwalker12, I feel so sad for all your suffering… it’s frightening to read about some of the things people have gone through and even worse they are not getting the help and support they deserve. I want to say that you have made a good choice by reaching out here for help because you will realize that many people can give you important information to help you get the help you need. In time you will feel better and not so alone…we have to start somewhere to find our way back and this is just the beginning for you to do so, I hope you will continue to reach out again, good luck.

I know your title asked for opinions, but honestly I'm interested to know more about what you've gone through and how you are getting by now.

Hi Ghostwalker12,
What a terrible ordeal you've had in life! You are very smart and sensible to reach out for help on this forum. Do you live near the Mayo Clinic so that you could have appointments there? I'm sure they would treat you well and help you find what you need to improve your life. However, in the meantime pray to God and tell him that you need his help and direction. He is your best friend. He made you and he can help you!

Also have you got a job? If not, find one as soon as possible. Take any job you can find. This time of year, motels and hotels really need housekeepers. Not a fancy kind of job but it pays the bills and buys food until you figure out what you want to do. I have a Masters Degree but at one point in my life I was cleaning toilets in a motel with my Masters Degree just to get enough money to pay the rent and buy groceries for my disabled mom, me and our two cats!

I wish you the best! I'll say a prayer for you.

I am so sorry your life has been filled with tragedy. I too have suffered but have been able to get by with Effexor and Rexulti as well as therapy. There is hope. Please don’t give up.

Wow. Pray to God for some assistance. If you get a job, see a psychiatrist. You might need medication to help you get back to being normal. I'm far from normal but I get what you've gone through. Best of luck

The destruction that often accompanies mental illness is often hard to comprehend.

Most communities have mental health centers that operate on a sliding scale as to payments. I've have been rich and I have been poor, community mental health has always been there. I find the professionals there to be very caring and competent.

If you can locate one in a community near you they will assign you a case manager to help with housing, work and other services. A provider to help address your medication issues and a therapist to help you sort out the trauma that always accompanies mental illness.

Be well my friend.

Yes, mental illness is devastating. I have MDD and GAD for all of my adult life. I, too, look at others and envy them because they don't have demons trying to attack their mind. I don't understand the pain that some of us have to endure every day. So, I pray. Best to you keep trying like me . I try not to lose hope.
