Has any one experienced hair loss when taking R-Ala

I’ve read good and bad things about R-Ala. That it does help with the pain but people have experienced hair loss. I’m looking for something that isn’t a prescription medication

Hi @fenn47, I've been taking R-ALA since 2016 as part of my supplements for neuropathy but I don't have pain with my neuropathy. I haven't noticed any hair loss but it's not getting any thicker at 81 🙃. The Foundation for Peripheral Neuropathy has a list of supplements that have shown to help neuropathy symptoms in their Complementary and Alternative Treatments document here - https://www.foundationforpn.org/wp-content/uploads/2020/08/Complementary-and-Alternative-Treatments-Revised-2020-final.-1.pdf.

I have been taking alpha Lipoic acid for over 7 years and I do not have hair loss due to this supplement. I do have thyroid Hashimoto’s and had iron deficiency that may have affected hair years ago but don’t believe any hair loss is due to the supplement ALA. I am 55 and female and never read hair loss as associated with pure ALA supplements
