Hair loss: Did you shave your head? What products did you use?

Just recently had my head shaved due to hair loss
from chemo (TNBC) Is there a shampoo/conditioner I should use? What have y’all tried?

Once it is shaved, you might have little bits of hair falling out, or not, depending on the treatment plan. Once my hair fell out, or when my husband was shaved we just used aveeno oatmeal (unscented) and a wash cloth. When I had mine cut down to an inch, I died it pink until it fell out just for fun.
Did your nurse or doctor tell you it was going to fall out? Do you have a treatment plan yet?

My hair just start to fall out at about 3 weeks into treatment. I just knew I had to shave it off . I’m half way through my 12 week treatment. Then probably a lumpectomy after that. My tumor was 3.9 cm. at the start and now has shrunk considerably, praise god.
Thanks for the info I’ll try the aveeno oatmeal

Same fir me. It was heartbreaking getting my hair shaved but there was a great sense of relief when it was done. And my hair grew back thicker!! X

Hi!
I am also TNBC an when I shaved, I started to use baby shampoo. It is gentle on our sensitive scalp.

Chemo and radiation. Took a year for the dreaded chemo curls to go. 🤣👍👍

When my hair came back, about 4 months after treatment, it was shock white, since I was in my 30s and had dark auburn hair, this was shocking indeed. It did come in curly, and since my hair was barely wavy before it was difficult at first. I have since learned to embrace my curls, but between us girls it spend most of its time tied in a knot on top of my head to keep it off of my neck.
What was your hair like pre-chemo?

That actually happened to my best friend from 15 years ago. She had multiple myeloma and her hair had gone prematurely grey. Her after chemo hair was black and curly. It was still mostly all black 14 months later. Lol
