Gut Issues, IBS, and Visceral Hypersensitivity

Is anyone waiting on an official diagnosis for IBS? What symptoms do you currently experience or have experienced? Anyone have visceral hypersensitivity and does it ever improve? Is there anyone in there 20s going through what I am going through or something similar?

Just wanted to provide some background about myself and situation before diving into my gut symptoms, I apologize in advance for the lengthy details as I thought they might bring some relevance to what I am dealing with or how everything started. I am a 28-year-old female who started having lower left abdominal and lower left pelvic/groin pain almost 2 years ago when I lifted a heavy object into a car which at the time I thought was a muscle strain and seemed to improve later on. Fast forward a year later I worked my first job ever, which was very fast-paced and physically demanding and worked for a 1 year and a half. As time progressed while working, the lower abdominal/groin pain on my left side returned, but was tolerable at them time and took pain meds, applied heating pads, and pain relieving patches. During this time as well, I consumed a lot of carbohydrates and sugar (since I was exerting so much energy) and was dehydrated most of the time on the job. Shortly before quitting due to over exhaustion, burnout, and wanting to seek other employment, I took vacation time and traveled outside of the country for a week. All seemed well when I returned and went back to work, then 3-4 weeks later I had diarrhea for days and went to urgent care, then did lab work which later came back positive for Campylobacter coli. Was prescribed antibiotics for about 5 days which helped. I began to feel better. About a 1 month later, had to get surgery for ingrown toenails due to pain and discomfort on both big toes and once again took antibiotics for 7 days. A month later, lower left abdominal pain/lower left pelvic pain began to progress again. At the same time, I developed itchiness and burning in my groin area and was prescribed ointments for 2 weeks. Then tested positive for yeast infection and was prescribed fluconazole. My mother and I went Christmas shopping at the mall, and later on got hungry and ate Panda Express; later on in the evening when we arrived home I felt nauseous and had a combo of solid stools and diarrhea. I thought the food had disagreed with me and all would be well the next day, but everything went downhill from there. I went to urgent care and was prescribed medication for abdominal pain and nausea. Over the course of the holidays and the new year, I had an ultrasound, lab work, and an MRI (everything was normal); I lost my appetite, experienced nausea, constipation, bloating, fatigue, headaches, indigestion, heartburn which my primary diagnosed at the time as GERD. My appetite was gradually improving but began to decline again; later on in the month of January went to the ER and had a CT done which showed Colitis. Was prescribed antibiotics for 10 days; 5 days later had a reaction, was then prescribed another antibiotic for the remaining 5 days. Simultaneously, still had yeast infection which continued to test positive and labs/culture came back eventually showing 2 types of Candida growing. 4-5 months since quitting my job, I am still dealing with gut issues and recurrent yeast infections.

I got a referral for GI and last month was my first appointment/consultation with a nurse practitioner. I have not been officially diagnosed with IBS. The nurse practitioner is already assuming I have IBS even though I haven't had an endoscopy or colonoscopy done yet; who also informed me that my abdominal/lower abdominal pain is associated with visceral hypersensitivity. I was instructed by NP to take pepcid before breakfast and dinner for 4-6 weeks, eat 5-6 small meals instead of 3 large meals daily, drink peppermint tea for bloating and to soothe stomach, ginger tea for nausea, and follow a low FODMAP diet.

I currently experience off and on pain below, to the sides, and above my belly button/navel. At times, I feel pain farther above my navel closer to my upper ribcage/below my breasts. I have also been feeling lower abdominal pain, lower pelvic pain/groin (at times a sharp pain shooting from lower groin to lower abdomen) and heaviness which feels like there is anchor pulling my pelvic floor downward. Nausea (which has not happened to me recently), off and on heartburn and indigestion, off and on bloating, burping on and off during and post meals, trapped gas, constipation, faint blood on toilet paper after a bowel movement that comes and goes, fatigue (most recent symptom), brain fog (most recent symptom), bladder contractions/bladder spasms (even though I empty my bladder there are times where it feels like I need to urinate even though I don't have any urine), and a change in appetite (which has improved, but not the same like it use to be).
