Gleason score

I never ask about my Gleason score. I hear it mentioned on this forum. Would it be on my PET scan report? My oncologist never mentioned it so I never thought to ask. Im sure it was high considering my metastatic pc

You need a biopsy to get a gleason score. Your score from scans would be PIRAD scores.

your biopsy report will mention the Gleason score. Does not mean that because you have mets (stage 4) your Gleason would be higher.

Most every test you get related to prostate cancer results in a number that will be in the report. Those numbers are the primary drivers of next steps and treatment recommendations;
> PSA tests result in a PSA number.
> MRIs result in a PIRADS number.
> Biopsies result in a Gleason number.
> PSMA PET scans result in a SUVmax number.

Always ask for the number. If they only say that it’s low, medium, or high, that’s not enough to go from.
