Gastroesophageal Junction Issues. Please help!

Posted by moando @moando, Jun 21, 2023

Im really concerned. I am a 37 year old male. I used to be a heavy drinker in my early to late 20s until i slowed down and gradually quit. Smoking didnt help either but ive been off of it for 3 years now. I am having a sensation where my Gastroesophageal Junction is located. Whenever i drink soda i can feel that area burn. Surprisingly that area is unaffected by citric drinks such as Orange juice. Whenever i eat i can feel the food i am swallowing in that location. If the food is HOT(temperature wise) or Spicy i can feel it. I have indigestion but its localized in that area and belly and never comes up to my throat. Once in a while i get slight pains. Im worried its cancer. Hoping for some light

I know you are concerned and it sounds like you should seek medical consultation to find out what is going on. In our worry, it is so easy to think worst case scenario like cancer. But the symptoms you describe could be many things, most of which are treatable.

Have you talked to your doctor?
