From Pet Scan, what does this mean?

Posted by brehill62 @brehill62, Apr 26, 2022

Single hypermetabolic lymph node identified at the
angle of the mandible on the right with maximum SUV of 4.8. Findings
concerning for a metastatic lymph node.

I had a PET Scan after my breast cancer.

I hate to pre- empt your doctor. This essentially says there was an uptake of the tracer they gave you in a lymph node at the right side of your jaw. The radiologist states it is concerning for cancer in that lymph node. This is not an absolute statement, but the radiologist is recommending that your doctor investigate this further.
Try not to make yourself crazy about this, I understand how frightening this can be. Do you have family or a close friend that can go with you to your appointments.
Has your doctor discussed these findings with you? If not when is your next doctor appointment?
