From Lexapro to lorazapam

Dr is weaning me off of 20 mg of lexapro he has me on Lorazapam. Will I get anxiety still or will the Lorazapam stop me from getting anxiety while I wean off?

The Ativan is very good at reducing anxiety. It is also fast acting.

Did you doctor give you informed consent and tell that as it is a benzo taking it for more than two to four weeks on a daily basis will require a very uncomfortable withdrawal period? Please do the research and see if this is what you want to be taking.

@joetex So far I'm ok i'm down to 5 mg lexapro plus taking the ativan and am not having anxiety.

I took 1 mg lorazepam for years. Weaned down slowly
with gradually increasing escitalopram. Just the converse of your situation. Had no problem with withdrawal that way. Hope it works well for you
with a therapy trial. I’m in process of lowering escitalopram.
