Found a lump under my right rib.
Hello, I had my gallbladder removed last year. Also when I sit in my chair I tend to lean on my right side. There's a pain there, a dull pain that comes and goes. Tonight, I pressed right under my rib cage on both sides and found that on my right side there is a hard area, that feels like a lump. Is this scarring tissue, or am I dying? I am only 40.. I am also a hypochondriac and I am not doing well because of this. What is it? I am not losing weight, I am not sick. I only feel this pain from time to time when I eat stuff like hummus or rice. Someone help, please.

I understand, but I do think it could be something simple, that can be resolved. I have had a small lump I feel just under my R rib cage, that is a hernia. Unlike you, it doesn't cause me pain, and I was told to do nothing unless I had any symptoms from it. But, my point is that it could be something simple, not life-threatening. Get medical assistance on this. Find out what it is. I have an Anxiety Disorder, so I know how anxious you can get from things like this, but I tell myself to take deep breaths and calm down. Please don't worry until you know you have something to worry about. Again, get it checked out. It is really your only opltion.

I agree with what @pkh3381 and @debra54 have suggested. In order to put your mind at ease, you need to discuss this with your GI doctor.
