Has anyone had success with having foregut surgery to correct a failed Nissen fundoplication?

Hi @lhabada.

You may want to check out another discussion where members have been talking about nissan fundoplication reversal. https://connect.mayoclinic.org/discussion/nissen-fundoplication-reversal/

For some more general information about other’s experiences with NF I did a search from the digestive health home page. https://connect.mayoclinic.org/group/digestive-gastrointestinal-problems/?search=Nissen%20Fundoplication&index=discussions

Here is one Mayo Clinic provider listing foregut as an interest. Click on the ‘research’ button at the top of the page to read more about his involvement. https://www.mayoclinic.org/biographies/bowers-steven-m-d/bio-20055099

I assume you or someone you know is having complications from having an initial nissan fundoplication surgery. It may help others know how to better help you if you are comfortable to share a bit more. What is your experience? What are some of the problems you are looking to correct?

Hello, @lhabada. Just wanted to check back with you. I'm guessing from what you mentioned about a failed Nissen fundoplication that this may have occurred with you or someone you care about? If so, will you share a bit about what happened and what symptoms may be causing issues currently?

I also wanted to clarify if you were talking about a revision (do-over of the Nissen) or a reversal (undoing of the Nissen) when you talked about foregut surgery for a failed Nissen?
