Foot and ankle swelling and sharp shooting pain after TKR

Posted by koleke @koleke, Dec 30, 2024

Am curious if anyone has experienced swelling and sharp pains in their foot\ankle after TKR. Its been 13 days and my knee is getting better but my husband can't do his PT because of the foot pain. Its excruciating. Trying to seek answers for him. Thanks!

Have you been communicating with the tkr surgical team? What is their response and do they know that his PT is effected by the foot pain? I know he needs to get to the bottom of the foot pain but is he taking the post tkr pain meds?

He is taking the meds and the surgical team is out of town for the holidays...but the office staff contacted the PA and he said it was "normal." Just wondered if it was other tkr recipient's normal.. Thanks.

I developed ankle pronation which has progressed to severe ankle sprain. Barely able t o walk, put weight on the ankle. Podiatrist gave cortisone shot and R/X for physical therapy. Holidays so P.T on hold. Alot of really bad pain. Has this been anyone else's experience and what to do if so. Sincere thanks
