Foley catheter questions

I had hernia repair surgery, and then developed urine retention a few days later. They inserted a Foley catheter in the emergency room. I was sent home with minimal information other than basic care and referral to a urologist who will remove the catheter next week. I have many questions. There is no way to get back to the emergency room physician who inserted it, and my hernia surgeon thinks I need to talk to the urologist. The urologist won’t answer my questions since they have seen me yet. Where do I go to get my questions answered? My most pressing is whether I can attend a meet and greet event the day after they take the catheter out. It won’t be strenuous. Mostly sitting, some walking.
