Flu vaccine side effects

Posted by reillyg1013 @reillyg1013, Nov 17, 2023

I had my yearly flu vaccine on October 17th and experienced the normal sore arm, but the pain never went away, and has in fact intensified. The pain is now radiating all the way down to elbow and up to my neck. Anyone experiencing the same issue?

Yes, the same thing happened to me and I haven't had a flu shot since. I got bursitis in my left arm that lasted for months, until I finally gave up and got a steroid shot, which cured the bursitis. I've read if a shot is given too high up on the arm and the vaccine is injected into the bursa you can get bursitis. The funny thing is, I got the shot at my doctor's office. I've never had any problem getting them at the CVS, but when a nurse gave me the shot, she apparently did it wrong.

Thank you for the information, and like you, the shot was very high - I never made the connection.

I too had a flu shot that hit the bursa and resulted months later in a steroid shot to relieve it. This year I learned a new lesson. Due to a hyper-reactive inflammatory response in my body, no more injections of any kind in that arm. The flu shot this year was in the correct spot, but the bursitis has flared again. Trying to wait it out but may end with another injection. My primary and the pharmacist now told me no more injections in that arm.

Wow, that sounds like me, only now I'm afraid to get any injections of any kind in either arm. I got a bad cold and cough after my 4th covid shot and then had to take an antibiotic to try to get rid of the cough and ended up with a major inflammatory response like fibromyalgia. Now I can't eat gluten. I also avoid all drugs except the vitamins my functional medicine doctor prescribed. I'm pretty much okay now, thanks to him.

Never had a reaction with the flu shot.....however I refuse to take anymore Covid shots period. I took the first three and after the third got so sick.....worse than having Covid itself.

I was sicker after the 4th Covid shot than I was when I actually got Covid. But I was fine after the first 3 shots. Go figure.
