flomax and when I missed dose
My doctor put me on flomax as I wait for a surgery date, I wasn't really having huge problems going, but was getting up 2x per night at least and occasionally having my stream stop a couple times. I missed 2 doses, without realizing it, I have been on the flomax for about 60 days, I was having such a hard time going it was painful. The straining was like to the point of making you want to sit down, do you think that my prostate has swollen that much or is it the medication being taken away and it would go away after a few days? I did restart the meds and all good flowing well now. Also, I have had dry orgasm I never experienced it before, and I am sure I will after the surgery but did not expect it before the surgery. Thanks for the input.

Yes, once Oxybutynin fixed my urgency issues I tried to self-demedicate off of Tamsulosin (FlowMax) and it didn't go well. I got down to 1 per day with no issues but when I stopped altogether all the other issues came flowing back.
My urologist recently told me something weird: it's better to take Tamsulosin at 'supper time' rather than bedtime. He drew me a little graph showing that this gave a smoother delivery. Not being from here, I had to look up 'supper time' and it seems he means at the time of your evening meal. I'm trying this but I didn't have an obvious issue one 1-at-night, I just didn't do well when I cut it out altogether. I'm not sure what to do next - it's a 24 hour drug so going to once every other day doesn't seem helpful.
He also told me to get off Oxybutynin (my wonder drug, prescribed by my Radiologist) as soon as possible. He says that it may cause long term dementia issues and short term... at this point he made a blank, slack jawed, idiot face. Sucks - I could live with the Tamsulosin deprivation but Oxybutynin changed everything for me and I just can't go back to peeing myself daily.
