First post RARP routine Physical
I had a follow up with my surgeon two weeks after my RARP. I had a brief meeting (hey my surgery didn't kill me) with my PCP about 10 days after my RARP. Now I have a routine Physical with my PCP coming up. I've got my post RARP PSA test results printed out etc. to share with them. What else should I share discuss with them?

Will they prescribe Cialis so the blood flow can be continued to your penis. Will they supply a penis pump So you can continue to keep the tissue strong while you recover. I had one supplied to me.
Will they continue to give you PSA tests every three or six months? My PSA Started rising 3 1/2 years after the surgery, Regular testing detected it. If your PSA hits .2 you want to make sure you get salvage radiation soon.
I just had my first physical post RARP and nothing changed for me. It was the same routine, with a little time talking about the prostate cancer experience. Any vaccines I didn't recognize I wouldn't allow her to apply, I told her that I wanted to make sure they don't cause problems for my lack of a kidney and lack of a prostate - the latter is not something I'm too worried about, but better safe than sorry. I let her give me ones that didn't cause kidneys or liver to work super hard to process.
You could request a DRE for old times' sake.
LOL @ DRE! 🙂 But If they found something I think I would faint. 😮
While everyone wishes things were pre-prostate cancer, there are a few benefits. The first is no more DRE's! Of course, from what I've been told, it's one of the main reasons why PSA tests were made so prolific, nobody wants that exam and a very large number of doctors don't do it anymore except for urologists - and even they probably don't do it as much.
The other, and I understand this is circumstantial based on the outcome of treatment, is that there's no more mess associated with orgasms.
You should get routine bloodwork and a urine test to make sure there's no blood in your urine and that your iron levels and such are good. Any surgery can lower your red blood cell count because your body has to "rebuild" itself.
