fidgets and stims

What is your favorite fidget or stim item? I am always looking for new ones to try out. I generally look for one that has nice textures, does not make noises, or is small enough for my pocket.

@tori32 I actually wear two small silver bracelets on my left wrist. One is flat, less than 1/4" wide, but has an imprinted design that I can feel. The other one is a simple Morse code bracelet that spells out "perseverance", and has the small beads and spacers. In the past I have carried an interesting small rock in my pocket that I can explore with my fingers.

Let's see what others tell us they use! Do you have a favorite one?

Right now my favorite would have to be a cube with something different on each side(toggle, button, etc). I also really like crazy Aaron thinking putty because I can squish it and knead it.

My favorite is to bounce my knees or swing my legs back and forth. I am 63 and while doing those things didn't get much attention when I was a child, seeing a grandma sitting in a wheel hair swinging her legs back and forth seems to cause others to look away. I do have 2 polished magnets. I will try taking them with me and fiddling with them. They don't make too much noise . . . 🙂

@lindaisling Welcome to Mayo Clinic Connect! We do what helps us feel comfortable. Just yesterday I was in a stressful situation, and suddenly very aware that those two silver bracelets on my left wrist were getting quite the workout!

Little things that we use to get through a period where we need to stim, are priceless, aren't they!
