Feeling of a lump in throat lingers after swallowing food
Does anyone have trouble swallowing drier foods and the feeling that there is a lump in the throat after eating - like the food is stuck there? I'm not sure if this is a new gastro issue or if it is a side effect of the neck surgery I had (Anterior Cervical Microdiscectomy and Fusion with a Titanium Plate Installed) done in May 2021. They went in through the front and I'm told the plate is in the front of my neck.

Hello @p95,
You post an interesting question. First, you are wondering if this might be a new GI issue. Do you have existing GI issues?
You don't mention your age, but in reading about the type of surgery you had on your neck, I see that it is usually done on younger adults. I'm wondering what disk numbers were involved in your neck surgery? Here is a link to an article about this surgery, https://mayfieldclinic.com/pe-acdf.htm.
Have you contacted the neurosurgeon who performed this surgery to see if it might be a side effect of the surgery? If not, this might be a good place to start.
If you have other GI issues, such as GERD, or esophagitis, it might be wise to contact your GI specialist to see if this might be a new problem. Are there any other symptoms when you swallow and/or eat?
