Fear of colon cancer

Hello everyone. This will be a bit of a longer story. Has anyone had similar symptoms? I’m worried that I might have colon cancer. I’m a 35-year-old man, and there’s no family history of colon cancer.

About three months ago, I noticed that my weight has stopped increasing. I feel like I just can’t gain any weight — no matter how much I eat, it stays more or less the same. I haven’t increased my physical activity, I’ve only been focusing on my diet. So over the past three months, my weight has been stable, fluctuating within 2–3 kilograms.

A little over a month ago, I had blood work done. The results were good — there were no abnormalities that would make my doctor send me for additional tests. But lately, I’ve noticed that I’m constantly tired. Actually, it’s not even proper fatigue because I still have energy, it’s more like I feel sleepy all the time. On weekends, when I’m at home, it’s easier because I rest more, but during the week I really feel the tiredness. I have a feeling I might be low on iron or vitamins. But my blood test from a month ago showed normal hemoglobin levels.

In addition, about seven days ago, I noticed a pain in the lower right part of my abdomen, a few centimeters to the right of my belly button. The pain is dull, and I feel it mostly when sitting, especially when driving. In the morning, when I wake up, I don’t feel it until sometime in the afternoon — I think after I eat. I don’t feel the pain when standing or walking. The pain has lessened over the past few days — I still feel it sometimes, but less than before. Because of this, I’m afraid it might be right-sided colon cancer, since that type often doesn’t cause many symptoms.

My bowel movements are regular — I go every morning. There’s no visible bleeding, no diarrhea, and no constipation. My appetite is good. I just have this subjective feeling that I might be low on iron (I’m experiencing most of the symptoms of anemia), and those can also be symptoms of right-sided colon cancer.

So, these are the symptoms that have appeared over the past month:

constant tiredness (plus symptoms of anemia)

slight weight loss

dull pain on the right side around the appendix or cecum

I think the lower right side of my abdomen looks a bit more bloated than the left, but I don’t feel any lump when touching it

I know I’ll continue with further testing — first the FIT test, then other exams — but I’m wondering if anyone has had similar symptoms. It’s a bit hard to explain to my doctor since my blood test from just over a month ago was normal.

I’m ruling out depression or anxiety because I’m a family man with a strong mindset, and I handle life’s problems well. I also know my body pretty well, so I don’t think this is something psychological.

Hi, first, i hope you find relief from whatever is causing your discomfort…a colonoscopy could help figure things out and reduce worries…letting this go isn’t good no matter what you have ! upon my osteopath’s urgent advice I got thoroughly tested pronto and that saved my life.. had I hesitated to get tested with CT etc., heaven only knows what might have happened…and, note that some less scary digestive issues have similar symptoms to the ones you described. Best of luck !
