Experience with vaginal estrogen inserts
I have er+ her2- grade 2 idc. Very early in my diagnosis and have not met with my oncologist yet.
I have been postmenopausal for maybe 9 years and suffered from very painful intercourse for years before my new provider told me about vaginal estrogen inserts and they did wonders for me. Changed my life...
Now I am devastated that I may not be able to use the vaginal inserts due to er+ status. (By the way, I tried the nonhormonal lubricants with no success.)
Is it anyone 's experience that oncologist approved of vaginal estrogen inserts with er+ status?
Right now I am mourning my breasts AND my vagina...
Any soothing advice/words of comfort?

My oncologist ordered a special formulated insert based with DHEA. The only problem is I’m not sure if it works and it’s expensive.
Did you try a silicone lube?
I have not tried silicone based...but other issue I had was recurrent uti's which estrogen inserts have eliminated....
@jjjw I don't mean to offend anyone here, but I will tell you what I discovered when I was transitioning from Peri to Permanent Menopause. There is a safe product that you can get (yes, I got it) I went to an adult store but, you can - probably online now - it's called hot KY and it comes in flavors *ahem* well.... Anyway, sex went from sandpaper to fluidity and it was fabulous. You might want to consider trying it.

Thank you 😉❤️
My medical oncologist at MSK okayed estradiol tablets 2x per week for me. I'm pretty sure there are updated guidelines now, since vaginal estrogen is localized and doesn't enter the bloodstream.

Wow, that is really reassuring to me. Thank you ❤️
My breast surgeon approved my Estrodial cream insert for vaginal use and what I found online suggests it’s ok. It’s a very small amount of estrogen and you need to do what you feel is best for you. I’m 74 and way past menopause.
