Experience with Interpositional Elbow Arthroplasty or Elbow Replacemen

Posted by reelgal @reelgal, Aug 14 8:53am

I am 65 with longtime rheumatoid arthritis (since college) . My elbows are bone on bone and have fragments in them and painful with use.

Ortho surgeon is recommending Elbow Interpositional Arthroplasty as first step rather than replacement.

Does anyone have experience with either surgery that could comment on rehab times and personal experience with outcomes? Any aids recommended to purchase to help with recovery?

I will have to stay at Mayo 3 weeks post surgery so also looking for lodging/home care/meal service recommendations…

Thanks!
