Experience with acupuncture needles and vaccaria seeds for ears

Today I had my first 1 hour treatment for neuropathy in feet by acupuncture doctor who has MD from University of Florida and has grant to study results which covers all costs for patients in study. The first session included placing 5 vaccaria seeds in each ear and placing needles in my hands and feet. The total needles were about 18. They did not hurt, just a slight pinch as they were tapped in by hand. They were left in for about 30 minutes. I did not feel any change today, but will continue treatments to see if they start to help reduce neuropathy.

Acupuncture has helped the painful arthritis in my hands which had kept me awake much of the night. I hope it helps you.

@dsh33782 Don, you mentioned that your MD is from UF. Is this happening in Gainesville? Would be interested in being a part of this study. What type of neuropathy do you have? Do you have pain with your neuropathy? Thank you.

Hi Don @dsh33872, Looking forward to hearing how your treatments go with the acupuncture and ear seeds. Cleveland Clinic has some interesting information that explains it a little for the layman.

I had my first Acupuncture last week for low back pain, was nervous but it has helped about 50%. I'm going to have 2 sessions for 3 weeks and hope it can reach close to at least 90% but of course 100% would be ideal! Medicare pays for LBP Acupuncture which is so helpful. I also have Osteoarthritis in my knee I might try this for that too. Anyone thinking of Acupuncture try it!!
