Experience w liver metastasis & new small tumor peritoneal cavity

Posted by splendrous @splendrous, 2 days ago

I have metastatic neuroendocrine tumors in the liver with no known origin diagnosed in Sept 2024 grade 2 KI-67 6-8% well differentiated non functioning. Been receiving Octreotide but tumors have continued to grow. Recent dotatate lit up a small cell in the peritoneum (floating in the abdomen near the rectum). I have been planning on surgery to remove tumors in the liver. Consulting with surgeons. One said that new tumor was to small to remove at this time. Would like to hear from others who have had a similar experience with peritoneum tumors and what treatments you have had and your results. Thanks in advance.

My origin was small bowel & 4 lymph nodes resected in 2022. In 2024 it reoccurred as metastatic well-differentiated Nets in small bowel & metastasized to liver & falciform ligament, peritoneum, appendix, gallbladder, diaphragm, bladder & sigmoid colon. Ki-67 index was 5.4% Ended up having Cytoreductive debulking surgery a month later. Started on Octreotide injections 3 weeks following surgery. Status is currently stable with only one new small area in cecum that is too small for any treatment now. It will be one year in October since my surgery & I am doing great! Definitely keep up with your labs & scans every 3 months.
