Exercise induced MALS in young adults
After 2 years my 19 year old daughter has been diagnosed with MALS. Fortunately she only experiences symptoms upon intense exercise. However she is a D1 runner and it is prohibiting her from running. She is going to have a celiac plexus block to get a more definitive diagnosis but she is looking for some relief until her seasons are over and she can have the surgery. Wondering if anyone had the steroid injection with the celiac plexus block, and if so did it help. Also, any non surgical things to help relieve pain while racing in the interim. Ideas have been floated to wear a brace to help with posture, possibly opening up blood flow. She doesn't eat before she runs, so food isn't contributing. She has tried medications to increase blood flow, she has been on blood thinners and she has tried oral steroids.
