Excisional Biopsy...still waiting for results

Posted by kh4976 @kh4976, 1 day ago

Last week, I had an excisional biopsy to remove the architectural distortion found in my routine mammogram. I had a needle biopsy that found LCIS, microcalcifications, and UDH (well at least 1/3 radiologists said UDH, the other said ADH...I had to get a 3rd opinion). When I went in for the Savi placement the Dr. noted spiculations located posterior to the distortion. I was told I would have the results of the excisional biopsy with 24...48-hour max. The weekend came and still nothing. Has anyone experienced these findings? Has anyone had to wait longer for their results than promised. I feel like this is not a good thing since the surgeon was so confident I would get my results before the weekend.

Thank you!

My needle breast biopsy results came back in about 5 business days both times and that is what they had promised. I think your doctor over promised.

I just looked up my surgical breast biopsy and the report was written 4 days later and I received the results 6 days later.

I just had a small intestinal polyp biopsy that was promised in 2 weeks and I waited over 3 weeks! Like you, I thought it must be bad news but it was benign. The patient is the only one in a hurry.

The waiting time between biopsies/scans and the results is just torturous. Prayers for a good result.
